Who needs international health insurance?
Various international clientele require worldwide cover: mariners and yacht crew, expatriates, international executives, diplomats, students, entertainers, missionaries and other international travelers. |
|
Mariners and Yacht Crew
Whilst many more vessels are providing their crew with medical insurance, cover is often provided for accidents and illness that occur whilst on boat business only, or is work related.
What about coverage when you are ashore on your own time, off-duty, on vacation or between jobs? Health cover is needed 24/7, 365 days a week! Having gaps in your cover can leave you with expenses that can be devastating to you or your family.
Non-marine benefit plans and home country domestic plans may not be adequate for the international lifestyle of yacht crew. Many US corporations who add their crew on the US domestic company plan may not be aware that this may not cover them outside of the US.
Global Citizens and Expatriates
An expatriate ( abbreviated - expat) person who has left one’s own country
With international mobility increasing around the world, more and more people travel or move abroad for business or pleasure. Medical treatment away from home can be expensive and evacuation from a life threatening situation can cost thousands in any currency- more than the cost of the trip itself. Others may simply wish to have the freedom to seek medical care anywhere in the world.
International health plans provide worldwide medical cover and Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation benefits providing peace of mind wherever you may be.
Individual Plans
GLOBAL CITIZEN Annual International Health Insurance is suited for the US citizen or resident and family, expatriate or inpatriate, and has no time limits on or out of the USA.
This means that upon retiring from the international lifestyle and taking up residence full time in the USA you are able to maintain your health plan. Such continuity of cover is very important so as not to face possible problems due to pre-existing conditions when having to change plans if you’re no longer eligible for an international plan. When your lifestyle changes your medical insurance does not have to!
When outside the U.S., connect to a network of international medical providers through premier on-line tools: browse doctor and hospital profiles, schedule appointments, and in many cases, have HTH make direct payments to providers.
